A 75year-old retired teacher, Onuzuluike Ude, has been nabbed by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly forging certificates, alongside his accomplice, 54-year-old Evelyn Nwoke, a business centre operator, who used her center to perfect the crime.

The suspects, according to the police, hadforged several certificates including those of some tertiary institutions, National Youth Service Corps discharge and exemption certificates and printing fake Nigerian currency.

The police further said that the fake certificates recovered from them included those of the University of Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, College of Education, Umunze, as well as NYSC discharge and exemption certificates.

Nwoke allegedly told the police that she was not aware that the documents were forged, admitting, however, that the man used to bring documents for her to change some of the contents

The State Commissioner of Police, Hosea Karma, while parading the suspects, expressed surprise that a retired teacher could be involved in certificate forgery and wondered what he was teaching students when he was in service, adding that the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
