According to reports trickling in, President Muhammadu Buhari has invited Nigerian former President Goodluck Jonathan to visit Aso rock this week.
The invitation to Aso Rock is based on how to curb the militancy and unrest in the Niger Delta and general issues about the country.
The Niger Delta Avengers had claimed responsibility for attacks that reportedly resulted in a sharp drop in the nation’s oil output from 2.2m to 1.65m barrels per day.
The militants had last Thursday issued a two-week ultimatum to oil companies in the region to evacuate their staff or risk more attacks.
